The appointment has been made for the Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter on Sunday night, reports claim.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, the official announcement will come soon but the referee for the derby will be Daniele Doveri of Roma. He is 48 years old, and it will be his 14th match of the season, having officiated matches in Serie A and in Serie B.

This will be the fourth Milan derby of his career. Doveri has already refereed Milan 0-3 Inter in 2021 during Covid, Milan 1-1 Inter also in 2021, Inter 0-3 Milan last season (second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final), and finally Milan 0-2 Inter in 2019.
Overall, he has officiated the Nerazzurri 39 times, with a record of 16 wins and 10 draws. Doveri has taken charge of Milan games on 34 occasions, with the Rossoneri’s record being, 19 wins, nine draws and six defeats.
This year he has waved 47 yellow cards and one red (to Nzola, in Pisa-Parma). He will hope to not have to get too many cards out on Sunday, but given the magnitude of the fixture and what is at stake in the race for the title, it wouldn’t be wise to predict a totally calm, cool and collected game.
Dovveri was fantastic in the Inter/Napoli draw and actually allowed the players to play a physical game. If he officiates teh derby the same way, we won’t be talking about officiating for a change.
