MN: Duarte leaves Milan after three years – how much the Rossoneri will receive

By Oliver Fisher -

Leo Duarte became the latest player to leave AC Milan as he joined İstanbul Başakşehir on a permanent deal yesterday.

Milan officially confirmed that Duarte has departed the club on a permanent basis through a statement on their official website having spent the last 18 months on loan with them following an unsuccessful spell with the Rossoneri..

There was no mention of the transfer fee on the statement, but MilanNews are reporting that the Turkish side will pay €2m to sign the Brazilian which is some way below the reported previous option to buy of €5.5m.

However, the two million euros is not all that Milan will ‘receive’ as they have kept a 40% resale clause, meaning they will net that much of the proceeds from any potential future sale. In the end Duarte made just seven appearances for the club and mostly during times of defensive crisis, joining Başakşehir on an initial loan back in January 2021.
