DzBallon: Saudi club offer Bennacer €15m/yr – Milan await bid around €40m

Ismaël Bennacer has received a huge salary offer from a club in Saudi Arabia that could result in some late mercato movement for AC Milan, a report claims.

According to the latest from DzBallon in his native Algeria, Bennacer is ‘at the heart of intense speculation about his future’ because Saudi clubs – who are ‘ready to pay astronomical sums’ – are said to be eyeing the midfielder.

A particularly tempting offer has been made by the Al Qadsiah, the source claims, as the Saudi Pro League side are willing to pay Bennacer an annual salary of €15m, a dizzying sum that will quadruple his current pay.

This financial proposal, and an ambitious sporting project, could prove irresistible for the player. Despite having been at Milan for half a decade and having an important role for all that time, the offer could prove too good to refuse, both for the player and the club.

For Bennacer, the opportunity to earn such a big amount and to join the project of a team coached by former Real Madrid star Mitchel is very tempting. They have the likes of Nacho (former Real Madrid defender) and Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang in their ranks too.

Milan have already started to consider replacements for Bennacer, with Manu Kone the main name linked. The report concludes by stating that a substantial transfer fee of around €40m is what the management expect to get for the former Empoli man.

    1. Amrabat would be perfect for us.
We don’t need another ‘modern midfielder’ like Kone. We need a physically strong DM.

      1. Some fans love to live in the past. Why not convince Zlatan to return? He won the scudetto too.

Bennacer hasn’t played well for over 2 seasons. But that sad part about this article is that Milan expect 40M€ while no one will offer even 20M€ for him,

        1. how old is Z? & Beni?
do we’ve better midfielder atm than Beni? no.
Beni is better & deserved stay more than Musah, RLC & Reijnders

    1. BUt wE aRe tHe BeSt run cLuB in ITalY. rEmeBer bAnTer eRa….

      GTFU.

Milan are clearly not competing for the Scudetto, but for finances only.

    1. That’s the plan but in order not to have fans rioting, they’ll likely twist it. Hear it out:

Because they could not reach agreement with players over renewal (aka they were not willing to offer what they deserve) they’ll be forced to sell. Media will go along portraying them as greedy bad guys and Gerry boys on this blog will nod their heads in approval with usual cr*p like “yeah you wanna see us go bankrupt and have banter era all over again?”. And the caravan moves on.

    1. we still have 0 depth in midfield and the only ones we can sign now due to bad Italian player policy we are forced to sign only Italians and u21 EU players…

RLC role is confusing, can’t play double-pivot nor CAM… Musah too inexperienced and now we want to sell Benancer who is only regista of our team…

      1. Musah turned 21 just now. He has the physical attributes, works hard and could in the future do the work. But Musah is 21, still an idiot, not ready for this type of role. Plus, Pioli put him in so many different roles, he probably does not know what to do. Hopefully Fonseca can settle him in a role and let Musah then learn the craft.
Imagine Musah at 20 learning and your coach put you as an LW, then RW then CM then DMF and sometimes as RB. Give Pioli one more year and We would’ve seen him as CF. At least Fonseca seems set on seeing Musah in the 2 midfield Pivot.

  1. What a bunch of idiots

Aside from the fact Bennacer is a good player and one of the only players we have who can play in the centre of the pitch, it is always important not too change too many players at a time. Are we going to have an entirely new midfield that will take a year to gel?
One year after we bought an entirely new midfield? that didn’t gel

The last time we had a functional midfield it was Kessie, Tonali, Bennacer, Krunic all of whom we have ditched, in favour of a bunch of cheap guys who look nowhere near good enough.

I wish we could have our old midfield back!!
Now we are in the process of ditching the young defense we had built by selling Kalulu and prob soon Thiaw

I wish they could just fix the problems we have and stop creating new ones!

I would be my bottom dollar Mike, Theo and Leao leave next summer.
They want more than to be part of an unending merry go round that will win NOTHING!!

    1. Sad truth is, Bennacer has been nowhere as good a player we have known him to be. Both him and Tonali were complimentary pieces to Kessie, and you could tell – they weren’t anywhere near as effective after Frank in the same double pivot.

Bennacer leaving signals their intent to bring in more DM’s. Vos is done – seems like a better version of Musah. And if reports are to be believed, kone would come in.

Hopefully they are an upgrade/depth to defensive midfield coverage. As to how long it would take to gel will depend on Fonseca.

  2. If we’re gonna sell Bennacer for a big price (again I’m not in favour of that) might as well go for an Italian midfielder (Ricci or Pratti) or even 2 at least we can register them with no issues.
Having no Italians in the team is never really a good thing for many reasons.

    1. Idon’t think they are getting anywhere close to 40mil for Benny. Close to 30 would be a miracle.

As for Italians, I wouldn’t mind more of a presence, but I wouldn’t support the team any less without them. But it is sad to see Milan less Italian than Inter.

  3. This is really sad 😢.
I really don’t understand what this management are up to.
I think this is going to be a very tough season for Milan and it’s going to take a miracle for us to make top 4 by the end of the season SMH 🤦

  4. The clowns are selling the last true Defensive Midfielder in the team. They are replacing them with runners thinking it the NFL. Welcome to AC Cardinale

  5. No one is going to pay €40 million for Bennacer. €15-20 million is reasonable, but I hope the deal collapses because the last thing we need is more Frenchman (Kone). Moncada out.

  6. Remind me once again why Maldini was such a failure?

Faileed to deliver $$$ for owners and only a Scudetto?? Big mistake….

  7. Get rid of creativity in midfield and replace them with older musah type. Yes ben hasn’t been the same since injury but we have a bunch of average or below average midfielders. Well. Moneyball has otherwise i guess.

  8. Even though I agree that Bennacer is not the player he was during the Scudetto season, I think he’s still one of our only central/DM options that can play at a “Milan” level, even if just barely, and he’s getting more stick than he deserves.

That said, if we can actually get €40M for him, we should take that deal and run. That would provide Redbird with the chance to get a functional DM and still pocket some profit (which we all know is their main concern).

  9. it is a big mistake to let Bennacer leave. Although he is not playing a his best level , he is our best holding midfielder. When we play without him we always lose.
