With AC Milan already trailing in the Scudetto race, the need for reinforcements is clear. For that reason, the club have identified three areas to target.
It feels like there has already been a write-off of the season for some Milan fans, and it is understandable why. In Europe, the Rossoneri face a difficult challenge to progress, especially with Real Madrid still to play.
Domestically, things are somehow worse. Already there is a sizeable gap between themselves and Napoli and the midweek defeat only worsened the current situation.
Because of this, the management have identified three areas to target in the upcoming mercatos, and Gazzetta dello Sport writes that moves could be made ‘as early as January’. There are shortcomings in the squad, and the Diavolo are aware of this, but they must find a solution soon.
The report suggests that Milan are looking for a left-back, a holding midfielder and also a winger.
Starting with a left-back, Theo Hernandez’s recent absence proved that the Rossoneri need an actual deputy – which they obviously don’t have. Several names are floating around, but it seems Patrick Dorgu is preferred with the management seeing him as ‘another Theo’.
In midfield, Youssouf Fofana has been fantastic since arriving, but he does not have an apt replacement, and the Diavolo do not want to damage him by overusing him. So his minutes must be shared by someone with similar traits.
Finally, the right-wing position is being scrutinised. Samuel Chukwueze has shown signs of improvement, but if there is nothing further shown, perhaps a decision will be made, which explains why the Diavolo are keeping tabs on Federico Chiesa.
Buy quality, not quantity. Invest in difference makers.
But quality needs hefty cost. Except they gamble on the youth or rejected players.
Yet no replacement for RLC or no. 10 or no. 8 role? Samardzic was ideal, but look how well he is doing at Atalanta
3 areas to improve: owner, sporting director, clown/ibra.
👏
Zoro the best comment
4 areas to improve. Owner, sporting director, clown/Ibra and incompetent/Fonseca.
💯💯💯💯💯💯
Frendrup, Dorgu and Ricci would be fire, but clown management will never go for them…
@king22, we need a winger, not two CMs. That guy who plays for Lille, the winger, is quick.
We don’t need wingers. Why would we need wingers?
Leao leaving means one winger needed.
Yep, then they will buy a Joe Nobody winger for 10 M Euro who will add 2 goals and 1 assist by season end, unlike Rafa’s 30. Then you’ll realize how silly you were when you kept asking for Leão to be sold. You won’t confess to it, of course (NEVER!!!) but you WILL regret it. Mark my words.
No one is marking your words. Aren’t you the one who has written about 3000 love letters for Leao and promised to stop only to write at least a dozen new ones each day? Yeah, “mark you words”. LOL. 😀 😀 😀 😀
Good one. Thanks for the laughs though. 😀
Who said he’s leaving?
In midfield, Youssouf Fofana has been fantastic since arriving, but he does not have an apt replacement, and the Diavolo do not want to damage him by overusing him. So his minutes must be shared by someone with similar traits.
Are you kidding me, he is joke…nothing better than Musa and RLC or even Rade Krunic..
Fantastic is a bit of a stretch. I’d say an improvement.
The changes Milan need is really getting ready of the 4 clowns Cardinale, Ibra, Moncada and Furlani. Then we can really challenge for the scudetto. Until then we will suffer.
U r missing Clownseca
CBs are the must, get rid of Tomo, Thiaw and buy a consistent CB.
Renew Calabria
Holding MF, possibly Tonali(Practically impossible but plz try)
Doubt they are bringing anyone in the winter. Their plan for this team excludes any immediate effects. They are playing the long game unfortunately, which sucks for the fans.
The game they are playing has to do with positive financial account, and valuation of the club. They invested in Milan Futuro for a reason, and are dangling the prospect of a new stadium for a reason. I actually think that they will abruptly sell youngsters and other valued players closer to their future attempt to sell AC MIlan for more than they bought it for. Selling players will help them pay the vendor’s loan.
They will likely not actually build the new stadium (which would eat into their own money before it paid off). They will invest enough to get the project started then will dangle it in front of the nose of prospective buyers: “see, you can buy AC Milan now, and continue to develop the stadium; the club will be enormously profitable once the stadium is ready; get the bargain while you can and you will make a bundle.”
They are a private equity fund. They don’t care for titles and trophies. They care for stable finances and club valuation so that later they can sell the club to a sovereign fund like one from Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, for an enormous profit. They respond to shareholders, not to soccer fans. It’s as simple as that.
Even if that is the case there are different ways of arriving at your end target. Look at the massive difference in Elliot and RedBird, Elliot stayed out of the sporting side of the club and hired experienced directors to run things, they listened to their advices and invested based on that while you have Redbird who fired all the experenced personell only to replaces each and everyone of them with Zlatan, Furlani and Maconda
none of them have any experience in their roles, all of them is doing it for the first time. Point being even if you are a money hungry valture there are those who get there through success
If i was involve in the management,i would like to buy some of this player:
1.Chris Rigg(17)-Main Position(CM)
2.Luca Orellano(24)-Main Position(RW),AM,LW
3.Abdukodir Khusanov(20)-CB
4.Dario Osorio(20)-Main Position(RW),LW,LM
5.Eliesse Ben Seghir(19)-Main Position(LW),ST,RW
6.Jhon Arias(27)-Main Position(RW),AM,LW
7.Sverre Nypan(17)-Main Position(CM),ST,AM
8.Amar Dedic(22)-Main Position(RB),LB,CB
9.Andrija Maksimovic(17)-Main Position(AM),RW,CM
10.Gustavo Sa(19)-Main Position(AM),CM
11.Diego Leon(17)-LB
My hope is, as a Milan fan…I really want to see one of the players on this list play for Milan.Forza Milan…
Looking for winger means leao is out
