The eight absentees for AC Milan during crucial clash with Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

The international break looked like it had been kind to AC Milan as of a few days ago, but now they head into tonight’s match against Juventus with eight absences.

Heading into the week of preparation before the Juve game, it was expected that Milan would welcome back Rade Krunic, Pierre Kalulu and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who were out before the break, but the latter is not 100% and has not been called up.

Loftus-Cheek joins the known long-term absentees Ismael Bennacer and Mattia Caldara who are both recovering from surgeries on their knee and ankle respectively, taking the tally to three.

Then, the news broke that Samuel Chukwueze had returned early from international duty with Nigeria because of a hamstring injury which will keep him out a month, while Marco Sportiello developed a calf issue in training and will be out for eight weeks.

The morning of the game it emerged that Davide Bartesaghi has an injury and will not be called up, while finally Mike Maignan (sent off vs. Genoa) and Theo Hernandez (five yellow cards) will serve suspension.

  1. There is clearly a problem in exercise and practice at Milan, so many players get injured, maybe they need to change something.

BTW how long is RLC going to be missing?
