CM: Eintracht Frankfurt star emerges as alternative target to Spurs defender – the latest

A new idea has emerged in AC Milan’s search to sign a new centre-back but it will not be an easy pursuit, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Maldini and Massara are working to find a new central defender who can replace Romagnoli and complete the department with Tomori, Kalulu and Kjaer (and possibly Gabbia too).

The first name on the list is Japhet Tanganga of Spurs and a meeting with their director Fabio Paratici is expected soon, but it is important to keep options open given the unpredictable nature of the mercato.

A profile that Milan have had in mind since January is Evan Ndicka of Eintracht Frankfurt, the team that won the Europa League last season. His contract is due to expire in less than a year, and the 22-year-old has already let the club know that he does not intend to renew as he wants a new challenge.

That is why a farewell this summer seems to be probable, but at the moment the former Auxerre star costs between €15-20m, a figure Milan consider to be excessive. The idea of the Rossoneri management is to sign a player on loan with an option or obligation to buy, thus minimising the outlay this summer.
