El Nacional: Jorge Mendes wants to take Cristiano Ronaldo to Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Agent Jorge Mendes has begun discussions over the idea of taking his client Cristiano Ronaldo to AC Milan but there is a key condition, a report claims.

According to El Nacional (via PianetaMilan) Mendes has started working to take Cristiano Ronaldo to the Rossoneri as early as January and on a free transfer, given that he is a free agent after terminating his deal with Manchester United.

The report claims that Mendes sees Serie A as the ideal stage for CR7, who has already played for Juventus from 2018 to 2021, totalling 134 appearances for the Bianconeri with 101 goals scored and 5 trophies won.

There is, however, a condition for Milan (who in any case would have to negotiate Ronaldo’s salary) to go for Cristiano Ronaldo and that is that Rafael Leão must leave in January.

There are many teams interested in signing the 23-year-old who for the moment has not yet signed a renewal of his deal with Milan, which expires on 30 June 2024.

    1. IF Milan has the money to pay CR’s heft salary, Maldini wouldn’t be so stupid to renew Leao with that money.

This is total crap no-news news to sell clickbaits.

  1. Rumors or not, it’s frustrating that the minute we get rid of Raiola another worm pops up to start rocking the boat and creating issues.

    1. @Vero Rossoneri, that’s really devastating Bro😭.
It will be very difficult for Milan to be among the best again if things continue to go this way.

  2. I mean, if his salary demands are reasonable,
just for the rest of this season, why not. His shirt sales and publicity he brings will pay for his salary.
We don’t really have anyone that can play up front besides Giroud.
And It’s not a worse idea than signing Mandzukic who hadn’t played football over a year when Maldini signed him in 2020

    1. We should also keep in mind the atmosphere in the dressing room. Bringing a big star may cause trouble between the team members. I doubt that Ronaldo will just forget about his own goals and focus on AC Milan only. Can Pioli manage such a big name? Can Ronaldo stand under Zlatan/Giroud/Kjaer’s leadership? Can Calabria handle the captain’s role with Ronaldo in the team?
Keeping the team solid and the leader’s role undisputable is more important than selling shirts. We can’t afford to put everything we achieved at risk.
So, the question is “Can Ronaldo give us what we need?” I don’t think so.

      1. I don’t think he should be Milan’s priority, but under right conditions the idea of signing him should be entertained.
I think that his ManUtd experience and the Portugal benching will be humbling for Cristiano.
When it comes to Pioli, If he can manage the biggest egomaniac in football, Zlatan, he can also manage CR7. Same goes for Calabria. I mean 😀 CR7 played under the captaincy of Hairy Magwaya. His problems were with management and coach not with his teammates. Plus he wanted out because of lack of UCL football.
The leadership of Ibra, Giroud and Kjaer. We don’t know if Ibra is even going to be able to play. He is 42 coming off a major knee surgery. Kjaer is a back up. Giroud gets along with everyone.
And i was only talking about a 6 month contract . To score more goals, and even win another UCL before Messi, aligns with Milan’s goals.
The guy can still put the ball in the net better than 80% of the forwards in Europe . He scored 18 EPL goals + 6 in UCL last year.
        Previous 3 years in serie A he had 29, 31 & 20 goals.
It’s all about would he be humble enough to accept rotating with Giroud which I think he would. Before going off to play on oil fields he would want to leave on a high note with another serie A and who knows, anything can happen in knockout stage of UCL.

  3. No, thank you. Even if Leao does leave, there are better options available, especially for Milan’s long term future.

Milan already have older Ibra & Giroud up front and CR7 is not worth the locker room trouble.

Milan is not a retirement home. The world cup has shown a lot of talent in young wingers across the globe. Choose one of them.

  4. No. I prefer to stay with Zlatan because Ibra is a leader, he cares about the team, manages young players, and he does his best for AC Milan. So does Giroud.
Ronaldo is a great player but he is not a leader. He cannot give us what we need.
