This has been a big summer for AC Milan, but some feel that the club haven’t fully achieved what they had hoped with the lack of an ‘A-level’ midfielder.
Although more than €150 million has been spent by Milan, there are still a few question marks about the mercato. After all, the much-needed No.10 position has not yet been filled – or at least it hasn’t been until Omari Hutchinson officially joins the club.

The No.10 targets
Speaking on his X account, @FootballKush was quizzed on the mercato for the No.10 position, mainly focusing on the right side.
Antonio Belloni, a journalist for MilanVibes, questioned why an ‘A-level’ player hadn’t been signed despite Ruben Amorim’s desire to add a player with this profile all summer. In fact, he named Konstantinos Karetsas as a player in this category.
Kush then replied that someone of the ‘A-Level’ was targeted, but not achieved. It wasn’t Karetsas, too, with the Greek only wanting Borussia Dortmund. When asked who that A-level target was, he confirmed that it was Endrick.
Of course, given his strike rate this summer and the other reports, it is believable that this was the case.
The interesting part, though, is where he mentions Hutchinson: ‘Milan just couldn’t land that A-level player, but Hutchinson was also always part of their list from the beginning and now the loan gives them a chance to evaluate him’.
omari hutchinson is a good option out of a bad bunch. The man puts up good assist numbers even in a bad team.

if Roma and Juve can have -100 when they have direct threats from FFP; same can be said about us when we actually followed rules for 4-5 years…
PSG spent big and now are getting fruits of their labor… you have to finish the squad once and not keep sabotaging ourselves. currently we are at -65M with Tomori, Fofana, Terracciano, RLC, Bondo, Estupinian needing to be sold. Fofana leaves most likely on simple loan, but 15+5+10+10+15 can be generated from other bozos; that’s +55M for those that can’t do math… meaning -10M
we need 3 players to finish the squad: quality CB, LWB and CM/CDM (I think Rabiot has to be CAM this season, too good up field)
Zalewski costs 20-25M, Scalvini/Yoro 40-50M and CM/CDM depends who we go for but even that can be loan+obligation to sweeten the deal. 70M would bring us to -80M; way below Roma and Juve spendings…

Roma are in the UCL this year. Also, look at what they’ve spent: 125M committed and, assuming they’re all on 5 year contracts, that’s 25M per season in those fees (plus the additional wages, but they were already paying Malen). They also didn’t spend some 20-30M paying off a load of their staff at the end of last year. Meanwhile, our salary bill is about 10% higher than theirs (due to higher revenues).
I’m not going to do an in depth analysis on their annual squad cost and maybe it is higher than ours, but you’re pulling numbers out of the air and presenting them as fact.

Exor “recapitalizes” Juventus every other year. If the Agnelli family wants to burn their cash like that, that’s on them, but most people/companies won’t.

Also, why the f- do you keep insisting on Scalvini? He’s missed 77 matches over the last 4 campaigns due to injury, for 35.6% missed matched. Do players not get injured in EAFC? Good god.

It’s really not your place to make such suggestments and give such advices just because we don’t see eye to eye and probably (tend to) look at things from somewhat different perspectives, you have no right to do that, it’s an oversimplification and it’s reductive.

What if instead of churned 40% of the team in a summer we got three pieces. Had a good season and built from there.
We then hold an option in Jan of adding on key piece based on data and direct observation in the intended system rather than opinion.
40% of the team would be cca 15 players, I have never asked for that many players to be signed (not even replaced). Why is it OK for you to wait until January/February? I don’t want us to waste another season, isn’t it obvious that we lack at least three (but rather four) good players in respective positions? CCB, *RWB, DMC (I really want to see what the plan is here in case of, God forbid, Musah’s injury, not to mention that he isn’t a defensive midfielder in a conventional sense and meaning of the word but someone who needs to be moulded into that profile), AMRC, SC (vice-Ramos)?

Me. I think they have brought in good options and sold the right people, especially Leao. This may end up a scudetto season.
I said honestly, but OK, if that really is what you think, I respect that but you are being overly optimistic. We are still in need of at least three or four more signings.
I think it’s a must to sign a central CB for how Amorim wants to play.
Having said that, we will fight for 4th place in the league if everything goes well. That is my opinion; I hope I am wrong and we win everything. But when you see INTER/COMO/ROMA/JUVE, I think if we get 4th place, it won’t be a bad season. We keep the coach, then next year the club should buy two players with huge quality. Then we will try to win.
