Enzo Raiola comments on Romagnoli’s Milan exit, Bennacer’s return and Ibra’s future

By Oliver Fisher -

Agent Enzo Raiola has shed some light on various clients linked to AC Milan, including those who have left like Alessio Romagnoli and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The heir of the late Mino, Enzo Raiola was interviewed by the microphones of Corriere dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera) and he was asked about a number of clients who were or are connected to Milan.

He began by talking about Romagnoli’s farewell to Milan after the defender recently admitted that he had an agreement to stay, and he did not shy away from criticising the old management of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

“He, Donnarumma and Bonaventura were not understood by Milan, so to speak. Alessio had been held back by groin pain, he won the title as captain, but the managers at the time were not very enthusiastic about the idea of continuing,” he said.

“There was a proposal, presented just for the sake of it. The desire to move forward was missing, we didn’t perceive it. Signing with Lazio? The epilogue was the meeting with Lotito at Villa San Sebastiano. After much chatter, Romagnoli decided to accept the president’s message.

“We’ll see how it goes in the future. He is very happy at Lazio, there are many situations to evaluate. The president went unbalanced. Romagnoli came from an important career situation, even economically. At Lazio he accepted Lotito’s conditions, the maximum he could grant, with a promise: to sit back and complete the journey.

“They were promises linked to some steps that Lazio had to take. The Champions League, qualification for the round of 16. Lotito expressed ambitions linked to the club’s growth: remaining in the Champions League and dreaming of the Scudetto. Two out of three were accomplished.

“Stay for life? We have to meet again with the president, I’m sure he will keep his promises. In football we cannot make plans. But in Rome, everyone sees it, Romagnoli shines again.”

Raiola also spoke about the criticisms received against Donnarumma after his expulsion in the last match of Ligue 1, the return of Ismael Bennacer and the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic .

“I’m very happy with the mess that has been created around him. I understand that when a rare event occurs, such as the appearance of Halley’s comet, it creates a stir. He was sent off after 400 professional games [without a red card] and we need to talk about it, I say this in an ironic sense.

“The last red card dates back to when he was 15 years old, he was playing for Viareggio. Gigio is very calm. You need to evaluate your emotional state and stress. He has already played 25 matches, sometimes in difficult environmental conditions. Every decisive match between the Champions League and the national team.”

Finally, the agent commented on the return of Ismael Bennacer to the field after such a complicated surgical procedure six months ago, as well as the potential return to Milan for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He returned after a cartilage implant in his knee. They said he would return after 8-10 months. Impressive, he’s already done it. What’s in Ibrahimovic’s future? He repeats to me: ‘I have to think and decide well’.”

  1. Great idea to interview this kind of über turd, thanks Il Corriere. All he can say is as interesting and relevant than a giant pile of manure.

  2. I don’t know much about Enzo but I assume he is cut from the same cloth as his father.
These people are the manifestation of what is wrong with football. In fact they have created many many many problems and dramas, ruining teams and players careers. Pure greedy b*astards

  3. “The desire to move forward was missing, we didn’t perceive it. “. I think he meant the agent commission was missing so he didn’t perceive it.
