ESPN: Milan interested but PSG lead race for Real Madrid star on a free

AC Milan are already working on the summer mercato and several players have been linked with them lately. The latest name is Marco Asensio, who is set to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Milan are not expected to make any reinforcements in defence this summer, but the situation is different in midfield and attack. The latest player to be linked with the Rossoneri, as stated, is Marco Asensio.

As per ESPN, Asensio has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer as his contract will end. Naturally, many big clubs have been monitoring his situation in the last few months and could all try to swoop.

Milan are one of the teams interested in the Spaniard, as the report continues, but Paris Saint-Germain are currently leading the race. They are already in advanced talks with the playmaker’s entourage, having made an enticing offer.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will likely miss out on this one, in other words. They have the likes of Daichi Kamada and Brahim Diaz on their wish list, and thus signing Asensio would perhaps be redundant.
