AC Milan are down to the final details of the negotiations with Aston Villa regarding the sale of Pervis Estupinan, a report claims.
Milan are working on exits at the moment after spending around €100m on the signings of Goncalo Ramos from PSG and Mario Gila from Lazio. This is not only to raise funds but also to trim the squad and seek accommodation for those who Ruben Amorim does not see as a part of his plans.

On this theme, it appears as though the first sale of the summer window could and should be Estupinan. In the past few days, various sources have suggested that he is close to reuniting with his former head coach at Villarreal, Unai Emery.
Estupinan sale on the final straight
Matteo Moretto – on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel – has provided an update on the Ecuadorian’s touted move to Aston Villa, confirming that we are down to the final details.
“Regarding Estupinan, we’re really at the final stages of finalising the details between the clubs. The parties are ironing out the final differences regarding his valuation,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Milan would like to cash in around €15m, while Aston Villa has offered slightly less. I expect meetings and telephone calls that will be decisive for both Estupinan’s exit and Luka Modric’s permanence.
“Modric is expected to give a definitive and final yes this week. It’s true that all the conditions are in place to continue together. The very last step is missing. Clearly, Milan isn’t optimistic, more than that.”

15 million Estupinan sale means 0 euros of profit.
Sale of Estupinan only means that Milan will avoid 8 million of yearly cost on that player.

Why wouldn’t they, at least for the most part? That’s my valuation, I am not Nostradamus…
You don’t understand amortization, residual value and cash values. Estupinan’s residual book value stands at 13.6m euros. Milan must sell for that amount to not book a loss on the player. Whatever the sales price is above that amount is profit. So if they sell for 15m, the club makes a 1.4m profit. Regardless of the profit, the club will have 15m in cash to spend on another player.
Why is selling Leao for anything less than 80m “a big blow”? His residual book value is 11.21m euros. If they sell him for even 40m, it’s a 28.79m profit, but they still have 40m to spend on a new player, not 28.79m. The only “big blow” would be selling below the residual book value amount because the club would record a loss and that’s what hurts us vis a vis the UEFA financial rules. Obviously the more money we get for our players, the better, as it means more cash on hand for purchases, but hardly “big blows”. Leo’s isn’t worth 80m anyway.

Meanwhile, Inter seems interested in Stones, but of course they’ve flirted with relegation for seasons now, so why would that matter. Then, champions like Maldini, Nesta, Costacurta and Kjaer all played for us well into their 30s effectively.
