It is going to be a big summer for AC Milan and plenty of changes will be seen on and off the pitch in the near future.
There are plenty of decisions that need to be made by Milan in the next few weeks and the sooner that they are made, the better. Ultimately, there is no time to waste where the mercato is involved and the Rossoneri need to be involved.

After another subpar season, they must reset again. Albeit with proper actions this time. Indeed, a full commitment to the restructuring of the club must be made; there can be no excuses this time, especially after how last season ended.
Though there could also be plenty of changes in terms of the Rossoneri’s core, too, with Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao considering their futures.
A summer of change
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning’s edition of the paper, Alberico Evani spoke about the different concerns of the Rossoneri this summer, as can be seen below.
Chicco, after the corporate wipeout, did you expect Gerry Cardinale to make quicker decisions?
I’d take another step back, on Milan-Cagliari. I feel like if that match had gone differently, we wouldn’t be in this situation today. There are rumours that there were problems before, which I don’t know in detail, but for me, the decision to wipe the slate clean really stemmed from that result.
A gut reaction, then?
“I can’t say that, but with Milan in the Champions League, I think the overall scenario would have changed.”
Now, however, on June 10th, the Devil is a real question mark…
“It’s hard to even comment, because there’s still no definitive news. It’s clear that after the summary dismissals, one might have expected the owners to have some names ready. The very fact that this wasn’t the case leads me to believe that AC Milan-Cagliari proved decisive.”
As head of the technical area, the favourite seems to be Rangnick…
“A name well-known to football fans and not new to AC Milan fans either, given that he was mentioned as a potential coach a few years ago. He’s a man of clear ideas and principles, although I have a slight doubt about the timing.”
Is he referring to the fact that he’s playing in the World Cup with Austria?
“Of course. AC Milan is already inevitably behind schedule with next season’s planning, and if the new technical director has to think about other things for a month on the other side of the world… Even if he were to arrive, he would obviously have some trusted collaborators working with him straight away.”
Rangnick knows Glasner well: are you convinced by the two former Red Bull riders’ ticket?
“I think it’s positive to start from a clear and shared approach between the management and the coach. They both have the other’s ideas in mind regarding tactics and players, given that they already worked together at Salzburg.”
Do you like Glasner’s football?
“I saw his good results at Crystal Palace, where he won three trophies, but I haven’t followed him closely enough to be able to make a definitive judgment. Again, though, it seems like a smart move, regardless of whether he arrives alongside a manager like Rangnick.”
Whoever arrives will immediately have a tough nut to crack called Leao… What do you think of Rafa’s latest comments, in which he repeats his desire to leave Milan?
“On the one hand, I can even believe they’re understandable, after a very difficult season, even on a personal level. Leao was booed a lot at the San Siro towards the end of the season, and it’s normal for some after-effects to remain.
“Furthermore, I saw what he did the other night in the friendly against Portugal, a gesture (a punch to a Chilean opponent) from a boy who wasn’t entirely at peace.”
In his time, it was uncommon to hear a Milan player publicly say he wanted to leave…
“It shouldn’t be today either, because Milan is Milan, one of the best clubs in the world. That’s why it’s a little strange to hear certain words.”
Do you think the tear is beyond repair?
“It depends. If it were just an outburst, we might even try to mediate. But if Leao really wants to leave, I think Milan should take note. Provided a worthy offer arrives, of course.”
I believe if Allegri had stayed both Leão and Pulisic would have left. You would have then had years of Allegri ball. I think I would have found a way to hibernate if that happened
