Redemption will be the big word of the next few months for AC Milan, and if people fail to do so, they will no longer have a place at the club.
In Milan’s situation, there are often two ways of going about things; clubs either persist in the hope that things will eventually come good, or they look to start afresh. So, for the second time (if not the third) in 12 months, the Rossoneri could rebuild.
During the summer, we saw a slight overhaul, and this meant that the head coach was changed, whilst a few new players were introduced. This summer, we could see a much larger scale restart, and this opens several questions.
Tuttosport (via Milan News) this morning writes that ‘everyone’ is at risk heading into the summer, and that starts with the management before trickling down to the players.
At present, the club are looking for different sporting directors, to assess which direction they would like to take moving forward and this decision could also play into a rebuild – at present Andrea Berta and Fabio Paratici are the most commonly linked names.
Conceicao is at risk, as is already known, but he could be kept by the club based on good performances. Finally, many players are at risk: Emerson Royal, Fikayo Tomori, Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic and ‘above all’ Theo Hernandez, are almost definitely heading towards an exit.
Tammy Abraham, Joao Felix, Riccardo Sottil and Filippo Terracciano are also at risk, but they will have a few months to secure themselves.
No, not everyone.
Maignan, Pavlovic, Gabbia, Thiaw and Walker are fine.
Either Barteshagi comes in for Theo, which would be more likely if Bonera wasn’t so useless and developed the youngsters, or a replacement is signed. The defence doesn’t need a lot of help. Tomori, Theo and Emerson are likely gone.
Ricci is almost certain to sign and will play alongside Fofana, which will allow Reijnders even more freedom. Central midfield is already strong.
If Leao is sold, Pulisic will probably be on the left and Gimenez in the middle. A right sided forward will be needed.
The midfield needs the most work. We already have a talented squad. It’s not far off a scudetto winning squad.
I hope you’re right about Ricci but I don’t share the same confidence, no guarantee he’ll join a club in turmoil especially if we don’t make top 4
He’d be a solid addition, for several reasons. Also Ricci + Fofana + Reijnders as attacking no.8 means no real reason for Joao Felix, who i don’t think is dependable. But I could see Mendes as agent exerting some control influencing us to sign him. Honestly there might be something in Joao felix’ contract guaranteeing him game time.
That midfield is mid table.
You don’t get it, that is why it sounds good to you.🤣 “Central midfield is already strong.” And then “The midfield needs the most work.” Which one is it?
Ricci Fofana is almost as bad as Reijnders Fofana. Team needs a defensive midfielder, none of these is. Ricci is just better Fofana.
go get amorim
I don’t trust this management to replace a broken faucet at Milanello.
Bring Maldini back and stop destroying the team.
How the f* do you even consider keeping Felix for the kind of money involved?
Exactly, invest somewhere else.
Zlatan and his band of misfits will keep playing spin the bottle with Mercato. Shame, there was a club…
Please no more Felix, send him back to Chelsea purgatory
