Today is the day that the 2026-27 Serie A fixtures will be revealed, in a ceremony that will take place on Friday evening.
As the league’s official website confirms, the schedule for the upcoming season will begin being released from18:30 CEST at the magnificent Teatro Regio in Parma during the Serie A Festival. It means Italy will once again be the first of Europe’s top five leagues to reveal its fixtures.

Twenty teams will wait to hear their fate, with 38 matchdays and a total of 380 matches to enjoy, or not enjoy in the case of Milan’s 2025-26 campaign.
New names to look out for
Venezia, Frosinone and Monza are the three teams that have been promoted to the top flight from Serie B, and each of the three have spent time in Serie A fairly recently.
Venezia’s wait to return lasted just one season. After being relegated from the top division in 2024-25, the Lagunari immediately returned to prominence by winning the Serie B title under Giovanni Stroppa.
Frosinone achieved their fourth promotion to Serie A following those achieved in 2014-15, 2017-18 and 2022-23. Massimiliano Alvini’s side finished second in the table to secure a return to the top flight after a two-year absence.
Monza are back too, and for the first time since the Berlusconi-Galliani era. Led by Paolo Bianco, they finished third in the regular season and they won the play-offs thanks to a dramatic two-legged final victory over Alberto Aquilani’s Catanzaro.
Key dates
The 2026-27 Serie A campaign will officially begin on the weekend of 22-23 August 2026 and conclude on the weekend of 29-30 May 2027.
There will be two midweek rounds. The first will take place on 28 October 2026, while the second will be played on 6 January 2027 during the Epiphany holiday period.
The main novelty concerns the international breaks. There will be a lengthier pause from 21 September to 6 October 2026, while the other two breaks will run from 9 to 17 November 2026 and from 22 to 30 March 2027. An additional break is scheduled for 26-27 December 2026 for Christmas.

Other rules
➤ The sequence of matches in the first half of the season is different to that of the matches in the second half of the season.
➤ There is a minimum of eight rounds between first and second leg matches against the same opponent.
➤ Derbies must be scheduled on different days and not on the first or last day, nor in the midweek weekday round.
➤ Teams playing in the Champions League will not be able to face teams participating in the Europa League and the Conference on the 7th, 21st, 25th, 28th, 31st and 34th rounds, between two rounds of back-to-back UEFA competitions and for the fourth round limited to clubs participating in the Europa League.
➤ The following pairs of teams will alternate home and away matches: Inter-Milan, Lazio-Roma Juventus-Torino.
