AC Milan are not the only team this summer looking for a change in coach. In fact, a lot of the notable clubs in the division are.

With Gian Piero Gasperini looking likely to leave Atalanta, the Bergamese outfit needs a replacement head coach, and they could look to another former Nerazzurro in Stefano Pioli. According to Matteo Moretto (via Milan Press), the coach, who won the Scudetto with Milan, is one of the candidates being assessed by La Dea.

It is worth noting that the Rossoneri would not earn anything from the move as the head coach’s compensation was already paid, thanks to his move to Saudi Arabia last year. In fact, it is his current compensation package which may halt a return to Italy.

Another head coach who may return to Italy is Gennaro Gattuso. The former Milan player and manager is being eyed by Lazio, who could part with Marco Baroni, despite his relatively successful first season in charge of the club.

Maurizio Sarri, who is also another candidate for a move to Bergamo, is in the picture, ahead of the former midfielder who is set to meet the club this afternoon, as reported by Corriere dello Sport, via Milan Press.

It seems there could be a lot of the Rossoneri’s past on the benches of Serie A next season, including Milan themselves.

  1. Man i really hope pioli goes to atalanta and gattuso to lazio.
Milan will have less competitors for top 4 race because scudetto is impossible with allegri next season. This milan isn’t the 2011 milan where it was a given milan would win the scudetto.
