Former AC Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini has praised the two most experienced forwards in the Milan squad, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud.
Pazzini showed his admiration for the two strikers in an interview today with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News). Talking specifically about Ibrahimovic, he labelled the Swede as one of the greatest strikers in the game.
“He’s a champion, one of the greatest strikers around. For the mentality he has and the way he knows how to be decisive, I expected him not to give up so soon.”
Ibrahimovic has had a very injury-hit season this year with Milan but he has returned to fitness in time to hopefully play apart in the final three games of the campaign.
There are suggestions that he may hang up his boots at the end of the season if the Rossoneri manage to win the Serie A title.
The man who has been filling in for him in attack is Olivier Giroud who has had a great season. Pazzini praised the intelligence that he shows whilst on the pitch and says it’s clear why he has won so much.
“He looks at how his teammates and opponents are positioned, then moves accordingly. He’s a very intelligent striker and by watching him you can see why he has won so much in his career.”
I would love to keep him in some capacity within the club but in the event that monza is promoted to serie a i would be intrigued to see him there next season.
