A number of worrying stories continue to emerge after AC Milan’s shock Champions League exit at the hands of Feyenoord on Tuesday night.
Today’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanPress) speaks of ‘extreme tension’ at Milan and a climate inside the Milan dressing room that is far from positive at the moment, especially after the recent result against Feyenoord.
According to what the paper states, not all players appreciate Conceicao’s harsh ways and relations with some members of the squad are said to be at an all-time low despite the fact that he has been here less than two months.
Among them, Christian Pulisic stands out and there is a rather interesting back story. During the half-time break in the 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb, the American winger had a heated face-to-face discussion with the coach.
He even made it clear that he wishes to be sold by Milan in the summer in the event that they persist with Conceicao as the manager, which is a rather damning ultimatum for arguably the best player in the squad to put forward.
Youssouf Fofana has also not bonded with the coach who, according to the paper, does not particularly rate him and for this reason he put him the bench on Tuesday, which was a rather surprising move.
what bs.
All these mainstream media outlets should just be ignored.
agreed
Des conneries de la presse, rien de vrais.
This guy is a disaster. No skill, no charisma, no diplomacy. Man…you don’t have results, you don’t have any tactic moves, team play worse under your command. You have a problem with Pulisic ? I’m absolutely sure in this moment : you are the problem ! Very low quality coach. Reijnders plays worse under your command, all team plays bad. I think it’s time to GTFO ! And take with you your girlfriend , Joaoa Felix…
i disagree
You watch Milan games without brain and eyes
Felix is helping and has improved the team. If Theo hasn’t gotten a red card Milan would have been through so think before you write
He’s the coach and he knew what he saw
Felix is not helping. In the last game he was constantly moving into spaces creating congestions. Multiple times in that game and others he is hanging onto the ball or shooting when he should pass. Not a lot to show for any of it.
Go home u r drunk.
With this team Fonseca would have played better. Conceicao is a joke
Calabria, Benna, Theo, Puli and Fofanna all had a clash with him…
I agree with the latter but to say Fonsy would do better I don’t know. He had basically the same team to work with and had us squarely in 8th.
Fonseca is a clown but Conceicao is worst. Milan played individually under Fonseca and instead of rebuilding conceicao is making it worse.
Agreed. He complains more than Fonseca. Fonseca had bad players. Conceicao has more depth and still screws up. Fonseca got us to the top 8 in the UCL, Conceicao got us out.
Your girlfriend hhh
Under Conceicao, in Serie A Milan is 4-2-1, second only to Napoli. Maybe actually check the results?
No need for such news
Pioli Pioli
Let just remember our Pioli.
Tatarusanu
Calabria Kjaer Tomori Hernandez
Krunic Bennacer
Leao Diaz Messias
Giroud
On the bench Mirante (Maignan was injured) . Dest, Vranckx, Bakayoko, Origi, Rebic, Saelemakers, Gabbia, Lazetic…
And now, let’s see what Ibrahimovic meant by telling better team.
Fonseca and Conceicao had this team
Maignan
Royal Tomori Pavlovic Hernandez
Reijnders Fofana
Leao Pulisic
Morata Abraham
Or today
Maignan
Walker Theo Gabbia Thiaw
Reijnders Fofana
Felix
Leao Pulisic
Gimenez.
And you can’t win Cagliari, Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord….
Who is responsible?
One who fired Pioli. Who won everything with Krunic, Gabbia and Rebic with Origi.
And now compare with
I agree bro
The team today is filled with many egoistic individuals.
The formation 4213 has not yield results after tonali and kessie left. The defensive midfield is repeatedly exposed.
Lazy Leao doesn’t defend, prefers to walk like a striker. Milan is only playing 10.5 man with Leao.
Ambitious Theo wants to score goals, forgetting that he is a defender, leaving big defensive gaps.
The new players bought in this 2 years just cannot adapt to 4231. Milan just cannot find the best 11.
It’s just too easy to exploit Milan weaknesses once they play 4213 or 433.
With all due respect, herein lies the very problem with squad construction that you we keep telling you guys about. The Pioli team you’ve shown, by construction, is far superior to the other two squads. You can argue that the latter two teams INDIVIDUALLY have better players but they don’t fit anyone’s system (neither Pioli, Fonsy, or Conceicao) and they don’t fit the formation shown either, and they don’t fit ANY formation for that matter.
The 4231 with Bennacer and Krunic is better than the other two teams because those two can play the pivot in the 4231 and at least one is a proper DM never mind the quality for a bit. Neither Fofana, who is a box to box players masquerading as a DM, nor Reinjders, who is more of an attacking mid but deep lying, are suited for the pivot or DM roles. In fact Reinjders provides zero defensive coverage (one of the worst mids at defending in the whole of Europe statistically, but ppl look the other way because he passes the ball nicely) and is not even suited as a box to box.
And that’s why we have problems at Milan. Just like management, people are confusing perceived quality with team building, again with all due respect. And wonder why the assembled team of what seems to be better quality players aren’t doing better than before. It’s because there are shoving square pegs in round holes.
Exactly this.
The Milan team is built without understanding how the pieces fit together in relation to each other. That’s why sacking Maldini (and Boban) was a monumental mistake. They knew how to build a team and that is essential in this sport.
Furlani is not a football guy. Neither is Cardinale. They seem to think that competence in business extends to all areas, which is not true, but rather the Dunning-Kruger fallacy.
Exactly. I said it’s tongue-in-cheek, but I get the impression that they built the squad kind of like assembling a bunch of “poor man Galacticos” and just hope that some manager can put them together to win matches. But it just doesn’t work. If you look at the top sides, they typically have a proper vision of their team and how they want to play and can scout and purchase the right players to fit that style.
It’s painfully obvious Milan don’t have any vision. Hopefully, we can find the right managment team and sporting director (who’s not Ibra) who can do that.
I say this*
Funny you mentioned poor man galacticos because when I saw that we got Bondo I immediately thought poor man Kessie lol 😂 . The amount of money we wasted to replace him just so we can avoid giving him a wage packet coinciding with being one of the best DM in Europe is nothing short of shambolic. Best we just gave him the $ and save ourselves the trouble how many years after. Would have worked out cheaper
But fans get excited for every new shiny toy this management dangles in front of their faces.
I completely agree with you. Milan’s problems have to do with our recruitment system and the kind of coaches we bring in to manage the players
Won everything? One Serie A title is everything?
If Milan wanted to do well in Seria A and Champions league, they should have got Conte. However the club administration want to interfer and Conte is like Maldini he is a professional and does not let anyone interfer. That is the real reason of not getting him.
Facts. There took away pioli’s midfield, that was the reason for his struggles in defends, but his attack was still lethel.
Gbamsolutely
Backing Conceicao against “power center” players like Christian Pulisic, who have challenged his authority, with Pulisic even threatening to leave if Conceicao stays. They argue no player is bigger than the club, and Conceicao’s tough approach is needed to instill accountability, even if it means clashing with star players. The situation tests the club’s resolve to prioritize discipline over individual demands.
Good, sell Pulisic in the summer. This isn’t about toughness this is first about having a system and then not favoring players (aka Felix). Pulisic went thru this at CFC and now has enough credit that he’s not going to go thru it again. There’s a piece by Gabe Marcotti who is Italian about Pulisic and ACM. There’s comments from assistant coaches in it that add credibility. If you got Pulisic to speak out, things have gotten bad.
😂😂😂 Gab Marcotti also thinks Belgium is going to win every tournament. Hes an accountant who is somehow a football pundit. Take everything he says with a grain of salt. Check out his “podcast” . Dude is a clown
Now you’re just making stuff up. Read the article and listen to ACM’s ex-assistant managers.
Great article IMO. There are too many concessions being made for players who are not performing. Felix has some great potential, but he hasnt proven any consistency where he has played. Its crazy to me that he has come in and been catered to at the expense of two of Milans best performers this season, Reijnders and Pulisic. Felix being introduced to the team has shifted both of them to roles where they are further from goal when they are the two top scorers in the team. Mendes is a cancer if you ask me, all he does is enrich his countrymen and screws up any team he gets his fingers into with multiple clients he pushes on them.
The core of this team is Pulisic, Reijnders, Maignain, and Gimenez now.
Its been apparent to me that since the SuperCopa there has been something goin on in the dressing room. There are too many players not on the same age as everyone else, and it seems even the coach is not on the same page as the players either.
Complete disaster if you ask me.
Yes, just because someone writes their stupid opinion in an article for ESPN, so for Americans, doesn’t make it true. He made this to get more clicks and comments on the article, as stupid as it gets.
That’s our resident ChatGPT poster btw
The article, Igor, has quotes from past assistant managers. Yes, it was written for an American audience as we are interested in Pulisic but that doesn’t make it less true. I’m not sure I remember these stats accurately but last game Felix lost the ball 17 times and had a 62% pass completion rate. He’s your number 10?
Went through what? You literally made something up. What did Pulisic go through at Chelsea that is repeating now? He was a bench warmer at Chelsea, here he is a first team player.
He was a starter the first 2 years and won the CL with Chelsea. The last few years he was a bench warmer.
He was played behind the fabulous Werner who couldn’t hit the side of a barn. Yes, their were injuries, but Tuchel considered him a sub and then they went our and bought the wonderful Sterling.
Milan management should apologize to pioli,my problem with Conceicao is why will pulisic Be the one to be subtitles why not Felix,I see Conceicao turning Milan to Portuguese tribalism #conceicao out
I agree bro.
Fofana should be in place of mousa.
Mosua is then first reason why we had to play freynoord. A red in the first half ? Seriously?
Yet that American backed team wont criticise that American. But has to go all on Theo.
Both are at fault
I agree bro.
Fofana should be in place of Mousa.
Mosua is then first reason why we had to play freynoord. A red in the first half ? Seriously?
Only a different management can change their mentality and environment.
Yet that American backed team wont criticise that American. But has to go all on Theo.

The story is simple, we had a man that took Milan out of the mud, we decided that we can do better without him, now we are back in the mud. Our sporting decisions are terrible, Tonali should have never been sold! Couches like Fonseca and even Concicao should have never been hired. You can not be a serious team and see how a Chelsea looney is expected to make Milan progress in the CL. I can bet that they even made promises to his agent for playing time, like Bonuci being a captain in the infamous period.
No player is bigger than a team. It’s utterly disrespectful to see players challenge the coaches decisions. Every player in the team is qualified to play every match and has equal right as others.
Every coach has his own tactics, it will only take a while to blend these players together. Concecao is doing a good job. If Theo hadn’t picked up a red, Milan would have won the match.
These players are lazy and over pampered. Of Puli wants to leave, he should use the door. No player is irreplaceable.
Of course, that’s why we pay 7mil to Leao and when they going gets tough, he struts around. Lol.
The carrot and the stick should be used wisely, otherwise there will be mutiny. The club didn’t support Fonseca when Theao bunch pulled their stunts, would they have dared do that if it was any of the top coaches? Nah, bruv. The club are paying for lack of cohesion and vision at management levels. The “ordinary” players see favoritism, while they bleed for the club, then they start to put less and less output over time.
The Rot starts at the head.
Yes, you are rotten from head to toe. Guy writes a comment how players shouldn’t challenged coaches decisions and you write who Milan is paying Leao 7M. Wtf does that have to do with what he wrote? Brain rot coward.
You will always see players challenging the decisions, especially when you see a guy like Felix, who is on loan and has done nothin good for any team that had him take your place. Its natural to ask yourself why? And Concicao actually owns us a good explanation how come Felix was there for the 90ti minutes after being so week and wasteful during the match. Also, the short contracts Milan gives to couches does not help the player to trust the couch.
Whoever that is not ready to play to the coaches instructions or style should be sold immediately no time for favouritism if the under 20 is ready to play to the coaches instructions they should all be promoted because AC Milan players now play individual football instead of team play
Don’t hire Conte, don’t hire Galtier, don’t hire De Zerbi then act surprised when the whole season looks like a circus and top players starting to search for a team with a professional management.
BRING MALDINI BACK
I believe if Pioli had this set of players with kessie and tonali ben etc he would do better than both consescao and fonseca together
There is more to this with Conceicao then we know of. Bennacer leaving like he did, Morata, Calabria?? I’m not saying these are Milan quality players, but they all have one thing in common and that is they all act very professional. This tells me Conceicao is going about this the wrong way, when people say he needed to come in and install the right mentality everyone was thinking about a certain few players that have been acting the opposite of professional, instead he is bumping heads with all the players that were acting proper. If this was only Pulisic then I would say Pulisic has a problem, but it’s not only Pulisic. I say the problem is with Conceicao
Yes, that is the mentality. To be on the edge and push every moment every game. Not be a snowflake like some players really seem to be and whine that your training was too hard and you had to run too much. Or you were fouled in training, omg. The problem are the pussies, men won’t complain. If Conte had a situation like this Pulisic would have never played for the club again. Milan needs a coach like that, not cowards.
And I am 100% sure that Theo and Leao would be much better. Or the would be out of the club in January, Conte would solve this easy. You need a man to solve this situation, not a panel of feminized cowards. Make tough decisions and stand by them.
Yes, the players are a bunch of pussies, obviously. That is why they are playing like that and don’t have any character to turn it around. However is crying that the coach is too tough, I’d sell him tomorrow. They should have brought Conte to run them into the ground and then again and again. Just listen to what Okafor said when he moved to Napoli. That HE NEVER TRAINED LIKE THAT. And people writing about Fonseca, dude was a joke, he didn’t do anything. They were training like amateurs, the whole preseason was messed up. You can’t get proper physical shape for the season like that.
Sheesh, get over Pioli already. He was on borrowed time. The team didn’t have an identity during his tenure. The take away is they need a sporting director Zlatan isn’t one, recruiting a new coach was bad overall. The team needs to be rebuild. Pulisic probably wants to go Liverpool which is OK.
Those players are trying to control the coach, which is not good, christian is no body to tell the coach what to do, this coach is trying to do something, but the players are frustrating the coach, christian polisic, leao, and theo, until AC Milan as a management sale them off, because them will continue to disobey the coach instructions so far they are still there.
Just rehire Pioli..
Release Ibra, let him go home and rest. If you want an advisor, get an experience one, not a puppet. Also, get a CEO that understands the game of football and an experience Sporting Director that’s not biaise.
This team Milan is pathetic and losing to Feyernoord seems like a blessing in disguise. Just look at the Dinamo Zagreb game, very heart breaking.
This is not an instance of back to the drawing board, this here is an instance of back to the basics!!!
Get this idiot coach out of here. No top player is going to want to play his ugly style of football. He’s going to turn this club into a second rate portuguese club .
ragebaits work so well against you kids
grow up
Pulling Milan’s best goal contributor and scorer with a half hour left in a *must win* match when you desperately need a goal… is madness. And that’s exactly what Conceiçião did… while leaving in empty-shirt Felix, who once again failed.
Pulisic knows all about coaches with bias against him. He absolutely *should* stand up for himself. He’s worth more to the club than Conceiçião by orders of magnitude. Hell, Conceiçião just lost Milan millions with his bonheaded management against Feyenoord.
Republica literally throws siht to the wall to see what sticks, and everyone here just needs a reason to blow off steam.
Turns out this is all bs, all you doom and gloom ppl need to chill. Italian media make their money smearing Milan
Benching Fofana is very very good, because he Fofana is not good in passing, he always gives to the opponent & bu doing that they counter attack us. Final pass or through pass from Fofana is always intercepted. Please watch him closely. Playing Musa & Tijji is gar better or rather play Bondo when he is fit.
Conceicao Understand that, that’s why he refused to play against Feyenood last Tuesday & look at how Milan dominated & played well. The Fav Four played well because no misplaced pass from midfield.
Just watch him closely
