Fabregas drops interesting comment on Monaco star: “I heard he’s going to AC Milan”

Cesc Fabregas believes that Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana is heading for AC Milan this summer, with incoming head coach Paulo Fonseca keen on bringing him to Italy.

It appears certain that Fonseca will be the next manager, and now the management will be called upon to strengthen the squad to give Fonseca the opportunity to implement his style of place.

In this sense, Milan are looking for a defensive midfielder in addition to a striker and a centre-back. The team struggled for balance in the season that has just concluded, and some believe it is due to the lack of a natural defensive midfielder.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Fofana, a France international who is believed to be available in a cut-price deal due to the fact his deal runs out in a year.

Fabregas spoke to the BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast and revealed his belief that Fofana would be a good fit for English football but that he seems to be going elsewhere.

“I know him. I played with him. [He] is a very dynamic and a strong player. Good on the ball. A modern type of player; aggressive, can jump, he’s box to box,” he said.

“I really like Fofana and I think he fits very well with the Premier League style. Funnily enough, I never heard about Man United. I heard he’s going to AC Milan because Fonseca is probably going to go there from France and they know each other. So, let’s see.”
