Faivre names his own price tag and gives background on failed Milan move: “They really wanted me”

By Oliver Fisher -

Reported AC Milan target Romain Faivre has given yet another intriguing interview regarding his future, strongly implying he is already thinking about his next club beyond Brest.

Faivre has made no secret about his desire to join Milan once the transfer window reopens after the failed pursuit during the summer, as he gave an interview recently stating that he is still charmed by Paolo Maldini’s phone call. He also dropped a strong hint that he is gearing up for the move, even claiming he has spoken to former Monaco team-mate Fode Ballo-Toure about the club.

New statements from Romain Faivre arrive. The young French attacking midfielder continues to wink at Milan. Here are his words in which he returns to talk about the failure to join the Rossoneri

Faivre has given an interview to Onze Mondial during which he spoke about his failed move to Milan over the summer, even revealing that he knew the Rossoneri made a concrete offer for him, with MilanLive relaying his quotes.

“I managed it calmly. It was a bit tough at first. But you can’t collapse, what do you do next? You have to go back to work immediately, you know that in this way Milan and maybe other clubs will return. The Rossoneri had offered 14 or 15 million, it is proof that they really wanted me,” he said.

Faivre is certainly continuing to show his talent as he has played on both wings and as an attacking midfielder for the Ligue 1 side, amassing six goals and five assists already this season.

“I think I’m responding well on the pitch for the moment. I play well and I have the numbers on my side. I hope we will be able to move up the rankings. The price of my transfer? Between 15 and 20 million euros.”

  1. I watched this guy recently to see more than you can on youtube.

This is a really average player. I do not think he is better than Saladmaker – offensively a bit, but even Messias – no disrespect – is better.

Why would we spent 15mil on average guy when we want to build to compete in Europe. Makes no sense. Ideally we get someone better in the summer. For now Messias and Salads, for when we need offense or more defence.

Shame we did not keep Hauge, would keep us from hearing abput this faivre primadonna BS.

  2. I have to disagree. Faivre is certainly not an “average” player and would be a huge upgrade over Salesmakers. Not sure which games you are watching. Read the scouting reports, watch more than one game – look at this kids body of work. Maldini and Massara know what they are doing – he has more talent than you are giving him credit for. We will likely lose Castillejo so we need another RW and at 23 Faivre is a perfect fit. And I’m not sure who you think we can buy for 15M with that kind of talent. Very difficult to find for that price considering his age and upside. I would sign Faivre without question for 15M

  3. Yes he is average if you look where you should, at the top level. He is good in a weak team – same as Pobega. Pobega is even better in a better team.

You want to get cash? Build a team that will comfortably exit CL groups year after year. Faivre is not enough.

Saelemakers is not much worse – he is more defensive oriented so it’s easier to say he’s worse. Was Carlos better than Maldini?

Solution: Get Sanches instead who can play on the right, as AM and can be a backup in the centre. Guy is already proven in cups and Champions League, can carry a game (just watch Portugal; he needs to play more defensively there because Ronaldo, still is their silent leader) and has contract till ’23 with Lille.

BTW management Pioli makes mistakes too – Hauge and more importantly Paqueta should have stayed. That’s not on Maldini, but Maldini will still make mistakes. Way better targets could be made than current ones, with contracts expiring soon.
Transfermarkt is stupid, but at least that info is correct. Rest up to scouts.

    1. You do have noticed that through his entire career , Sanchez is unavailable literally on half of the games, right?
What to do with an injury prone player who misses half the games EVERY year due to injury? No thanks, pass.
