Falk: Milan stay increasingly likely as Bayern Munich won’t match Leao’s salary

Rafael Leao, like many other AC Milan stars, have been linked with an exit this summer. Bayern Munich have been keeping a close eye on him but according to a report, they are now hesitant.

Given Milan’s need to sell some players this summer, which resulted in the departures of Tijjani Reijnders and Theo Hernandez (soon to be official), Leao has been linked with various clubs. A move to Bayern Munich has seemed like the most concrete option, but now a new update has arrived.

According to the Bayern Munich-focused journalist Christian Falk, the German side do indeed have Leao on their list for the summer. However, the winger’s current salary of €6.5m-7m including bonuses at Milan is deemed to high by the club.

Indeed, as the journalist points out, such a salary at Bayern Munich would put him alongside stars like Serge Gnabry. This has resulted in the Allianz Arena side taking a step back in their pursuit, with nothing concrete at the moment even if he remains on the list.

Allegri’s support is key

Of course, most Milan fans will agree that an exit hasn’t really been on the cards for Leao this summer. Big sales have already been made and Max Allegri’s has always made it clear that the No.10 is the focal point of his team.

Furthermore, Leao is happy at the club despite the departures of some of his friends. The link-up with Theo Hernandez will undoubtedly be missed, but the winger is excited to be working with such an experienced coach as Allegri.

  1. What,?

Ok only in terms they expect Leao shows in Bayerns something before big salary they give…

  2. Stalemate.
Leao is too valuable for Milan to be sold under 70 million, but he is not good enough guarantee of quality for any top club to just pay over 70 million, unless they would be really out of options. Truth is, in Milan he is a star, but in clubs like Bayern/Barcelona he would be just a winger.

    1. Yeah the guy who has better stats than Rodyrgo is ‘just a winger’

seriously some of you here dont watch anything and just judge players based on vibes

  3. “Indeed, as the journalist points out, such a salary at Bayern Munich would put him alongside stars like Serge Gnabry. ”

LOL!!! And people here have been crying years for Milan being cheap and not paying enough for its stars!!! Well, newsflash! Bayern isn’t paying either then! 😀 😀 😀

  4. LOL!!! The transfer fee wasn’t a problem for Bayern, huh? It was his salary that made them chenge their mind? hahaha ok …

  5. Bayern have 10 players over 15m a year 4 over 20m. Think they would be able to pay Leao’s just fine lol

  6. I just love how after a month of absolute nothing about this deal and then suddenly it just come a article about his salary is to high for Bayern München.
