Fassone: “The team is strong; we hope Niang overcomes his stress”

By SempreMilan -

AC Milan chief Marco Fassone took to ‘Premium Sport’ ahead of tonight’s Europa League Play-off second leg to discuss the mercato and M’baye Niang’s situation.

Niang had submitted a medical report exempting him from training due to ‘stress’ until the end of the summer transfer market, a week from now. “We hope Niang overcomes the stress quickly” Fassone said.

On the topic of Milan’s mercato, and the said recent interest in Barcelona’s Rafinha, Fassone had this to say:

“We had no contact with Barcelona for Rafinha. We are quite calm about the team after the purchase of Kalinic. If we make some sales we might do something in the mercato, otherwise we’ll stay as we are and I think the team is strong”

Fassone was also quick to identity Milan’s objective for the upcomming season, stating:

“There is a great desire to return to the Champions League, it is the declared goal of Milan.”
