FcIN: ‘Defy the history of football’ – Inter tracking Maldini after Italy call-up

Daniel Maldini left AC Milan during the summer but joined a club with Rossoneri history – Monza. After impressing for his new club, there is interest in his services, and the most intriguing source of interest is Inter.

It has only been three months since the young Trequartista left Milan, but already there have been questions about a potential return, and with him being called up to represent the Azzurri, it is understandable why.

Maldini has started to become his own player and build his own career, and leaving the Diavolo was probably the only way to do that efficiently. Nevertheless, a return one day could be on the cards, and he didn’t rule it out when asked.

After his words in the press conference, FcInterNews revealed that the Nerazzurri are also keeping tabs on the young midfielder, and it would be a move that ‘defied the history of football’. He is seen as young and affordable, which the management appreciates heavily.

Of course, this would be a defining move for the youngster, and in some respects, if there was a way to create your own legacy it would be joining the direct rival of the club that his name is synonymous with.

  1. Why can I already see Marotta and Inzaghi hogtied and gagged in the back of a stolen van with a demand of a ransom to set them free again 😛
Kidding aside, I have a pretty damn difficult time seeing Maldini ever joining them.

  2. What’s the point of this article? Daniel will NEVER join Inter. Not only it would be a huge betrayal, much worse than what the Turk did, but his father would never allow it. That would be stuff for the complete break of the Father-Son relationship, and I don’t think Daniel would want that.

Yes, the Maldinis were treated unfairly by the current ownership, but still, the club is bigger than the current owner and administrators and I don’t see anybody whose last name is Maldini, joining Inter.

Whoa. This article should win the Raspberry Award for “most pointless article of the year.”

  3. I don’t get the betrayal narrative really. Milan do not think you’re good enough but Inter thinks you are then you join Inter… What’s the betrayal? It’s a different case if he forced his way out of Milan to play for inter but that’s totally not the case here. Not like I see the move happening but if it did happen I can’t accuse him of betrayal. When you get better, the bigger clubs are bound to come for you and if our direct rival is that bigger club then so be it. We can’t value what we have because the logic is that when it’s bought from outside, it has to be better.

  4. He is not good enough for us. With all due respect, but the invitation from Spalletti does not mean much because Italy lacks high quality AMs to provide tough competition.
