MN: Fears averted as Loftus-Cheek’s half-time substitution vs. Virtus was pre-planned

Some may have been slightly worried when Ruben Loftus-Cheek left the field after only 45 minutes. However, this was the plan for AC Milan.

Today’s game was a chance for a few players to have a run out, and others to show where they are up to, after some time sidelined. Of course, the pace was lessened a bit due to the nature of the game. However, it was still a good chance to work.

Ardon Jashari played 90 minutes, as did Christian Pulisic, which will have been the main aim for the game. However, Loftus-Cheek only played the first half, which has led to a few questions.

Nothing to worry about

The Englishman has struggled with issues in the past, so some may have feared that this was the case here. However, the change was pre-planned, as MilanNews writes, following full-time.

There is no reason to be concerned, they write, with the change planned before the game, whilst Pulisic, Jashari, Pervis Estupinan and Youssouf Fofana were all expected to play the full 90 minutes. The change, then, is nothing to worry about.

Whilst Loftus-Cheek did not do much of note during the first period, it was a game without much chance for him to get involved in his preferred areas.

  1. of course you can. RLC has a terrible injury record, but for now, he’s fit and playing well enough to be recalled to the England team which is good for Milan.
