Fichajes: Arsenal and Man Utd want Milan loanee after resurgence in form

By Oliver Fisher -

Charles De Ketelaere was linked with a move to the Premier League before he arrived at AC Milan, and now there are two clubs who have registered an interest ahead of the summer.

De Ketelaere was the marquee signing of Milan’s 2022 summer transfer window that followed the Scudetto win, but he never really got going in his first season at the club for various reasons as he failed to score and got just one assist.

However, the Belgian seems to be back to his best since joining Atalanta on a loan with option to buy deal, having amassed 10 goals and seven assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

According to the latest from Fichajes, Arsenal and Manchester United will look to make an attempt to acquire the services of De Ketelaere in view of the summer transfer window.

The former Club Brugge star’s resurgence in form has ‘managed to attract the attention of some of the most prestigious clubs in the Premier League’ such as the two mentioned, who are both looking for creative midfielders.

As mentioned, Atalanta have an option to buy him permanently but they could be tempted to then sell him on for a big profit. Milan will have an eye on this given they would net a percentage of the resale value.

The source mentions that CDK may see this as a ‘golden opportunity to head to the Premier League to finally try to make that leap in quality’ after a couple of years in Italy.

      1. If Atalanta sells him in the 40-50m range, plus their buyout fee to us, would mean we’d make a small profit (if you include amortization) on him in the end. Not the way the club hoped, but at least it’s something for a player that we paid 35m for and had 1 assist last season.

        1. Sure, many a mickle makes a muckle 🙂 My guess would also be maybe 5 mil or something but it also depends on how the deal was setup because if its 10% of an eventual sale price the 5 mil probably would fit it but if its on the ammount of what exceeds what they pay themselves then it might only be half of that.

  1. A talent Pioli could not make happen. We need to send Pioli out come end of this season. Pioli is anything but a coach, and Maldini figured this out and wanted him gone but he was out first. Pioli fan boys can come dance in this comment.

    1. Are you saying I was bashing him ? If anything I also supported him even when next to none did towards the end of him being at the club so please elaborate.

    2. Well I’m still bashing him – complete waste of time and space in a big club like Milan, or Arsenal and United for that matter.

    3. so the cat got your tongue or what Malda ? if you cant even show the common decency and reply back stop insinuating bs about me again.
