Fichajes: Milan interested in centre-back that Man Utd are aiming to offload

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking at Victor Lindelof’s situation at Manchester United in view of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Fichajes in Spain are claiming that Milan want to sign a new central defender in the summer and Lindelof is a name that has piqued their interest, given that he faces an uncertain future at Manchester United.

The 29-year-old was expected to leave United last summer given that his contract runs out in June 2024, but the Red Devils used an option to extend it by another 12 months meaning the deal runs until 2025.

The Swedish international has played 21 times for United this season under Erik ten Hag, but that is largely because their defensive department has been hit with a lot of injuries.

Meanwhile, the change in ownership at the club will start a clear-out of players that are no longer deemed a part of the plans moving forward, and Lindelof’s name is on the list.

The report claims that Milan are interested in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s compatriot but they are not the only club in the race because other clubs from Europe as well as the Middle East are keen.

Meanwhile, Milan have also recently been linked with a move for Zeno Debast of Anderlecht.
