AC Milan can go into the break with a bit of peace after the win over Lecce, but after it a very difficult run awaits AC Milan.

Milan needed to win on Sunday night after three games without a victory, and in the end they did so quite comfortably;. As Calciomercato.com write, following the victory against Lecce, Milan owner Gerry Cardinale issued a statement of support for Amorim and the team.

“These were some of the best 90 minutes of football we’ve seen. I want to congratulate Ruben and our players for continuing to fight in these first matches before the international break,” he said.

“It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that a new coach, with a new style of play and new players, will need time to find the right harmony. And I thank our fans for supporting us in this transitional phase, as we look to put things right and restore AC Milan to its winning tradition.”

A tough run to come

Time is precisely what is not on the Portuguese coach’s side, as upon returning from the break, Milan will have to face a decidedly demanding schedule with seven matches in the month of October alone.

After the break, Milan will face a fiery October. It begins on the 11th with the away game against Sassuolo, a historically tough opponent for the Rossoneri. Four days later, there will be a must-win European game away to RB Salzburg. Three days later, Sarri’s Atalanta will arrive at San Siro.

On October 22nd, they’ll face Bournemouth away in Europe, while on the 25th it will be another testing trip to Udinese. The midweek match on October 28th at San Siro against Bologna will follow, before the derby against Chivu’s Inter on October 31st.
