Theo Hernandez of AC Milan

CM: Club fine and a benching – what happens next for Theo after Feyenoord debacle

Theo Hernandez apologised to the fans and his team-mates after his red card against Feyenoord, but he might still face some internal punishment.

Calciomercato.com write how Theo is the ‘symbol’ of a two-faced Milan, a team capable of going to win away against Real Madrid and then being eliminated by a very young Feyenoord side who had 10 injuries. It is something he contributed to as well, given the two yellows cards he got.

There is disappointment and anger at the rest not just from an image point of view (the Rossoneri were favourites) but also from an economic perspective, given that the €11m for last 16 qualification went up in smoke.

The club decided to fine Theo for leaving his team-mates numerically inferior and ultimately costing them a spot in the competition. The French full-back is having a difficult time on and off the pitch which perhaps caused emotions to spill over, but at an unacceptable time.

Meanwhile, Sergio Conceicao is considering giving the Frenchman a rest as early as Saturday’s away match against Torino. One solution would be to deploy Alex Jimenez in his place, or potentially Filippo Terracciano, who has never been completely convincing when he has been used in that role.

  1. Should have done that after the Lazio cooling break, when they disrespected the club, the fans, their teammates and the coach. They went unpunished. Matter fact, a lot of fans actually supported them, because they hated the Fonseca hire so much, even though Theo and Leao were a billion % wrong to do what they did. Too late for fines and benching now.
Said it before, this season at Milan is what happened at Napoli last season. Media and certain players on the team created a negative atmosphere against the new coach since the get go to get him fired and ruin the season.
New coach came in, the troublemakers were removed from the team and Napoli was healed. Same needs to happen at Milan.

  2. Yes, he must face Milan fines and should be bench, a disciplinary must be melt to him because these two unwanted yellow card lead to Milan outster from CL.

Milan need to sell out unserious players, the same goes to Leao, sometime he played a useless i dont care match for Milan. Players that doesn’t know the value to wear Milan jersey should be sell out.

  3. Should be Jimenez to replace him, and probably Musah to replace Walker. A back 5 makes sense with AJ and Musah as wing-backs, our CBs have been playing and distributing well lately too.
