AC Milan’s Primavera side dropped points for the first time this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw away against Fiorentina this afternoon.
Before reading the summary below, it is worth checking out our latest Substack bonus podcast which talks at length about the positive strides the Primavera have taken. We also talk about the talents to watch, Ignazio Abate’s work as head coach and Francesco Camarda’s remarkable rise.
Back to events today, the Rossoneri took the lead right at the end of the first half with a great strike from Victor Eletu. The Nigerian midfielder steadied himself before unleashing a left-footed strike that tucked inside the near post from 20 yards.
La Viola equalised in the second half with a dubious penalty that Eletu was punished for, and replays showed the Fiorentina player certainly oversold any contact, if there was any at all.
Bartoccioni stopped Rubino’s initial effort but could do nothing on the rebound, which was a tap-in, meaning the spoils were shared.
