Fiorentina director gives coy response to Paqueta rumours: “Let’s see…”

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina director general Joe Barone has refused to rule out the possibility of a late move for AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

As we move towards Friday’s 8pm transfer deadline, the chances of Paqueta leaving the Rossoneri grow slimmer and slimmer, but speculation has arisen over the last 24 hours regarding a possible domestic solution for the Brazil international.

Paqueta was not called up by head coach Stefano Pioli for Friday’s trip to face Brescia, and Sky Italia reported that it was actually at the request of the Brazil international.

PSG are interested but have so far only offered €20m, while any chances of a swap deal involving Federico Bernardeschi appear to be over.

Sportitalia reported on Wednesday night that Fiorentina asked Milan about their chances of signing Paqueta before the window shuts, while TMW stated that Milan have actually offered La Viola the chance to sign Paqueta on loan for six months, something the Florence side are not keen on.

Now, their director Joe Barone has commented on the rumours, giving a coy response.

As per MilanNews.it’s Thomas Rolfi on Twitter, he said: “A chance for Paqueta? Let’s see, let’s see, he’s a Milan player.”
