Tuttosport: Fiorentina centre-back among four options being considered by Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking for a central defender this summer after seeing their main target Sven Botman go to Newcastle United, and an old flame has reappeared.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the Rossoneri management are once again interested in the idea of signing Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic. His contract with La Viola expires on 30 June 2023 and head coach Stefano Pioli has worked with him before, considering him a very strong option.

There could be a transfer market derby between Inter and Milan for Milenkovic, given that the Serbia international is liked by the Nerazzurri too, but Inter have an advantage over their city rivals having already found an agreement in principle with Milenkovic’s entourage.

There are other names on Milan’s wish list too in the event that the conditions are not right for Milenkovic, with Arthur Theate of Bologna, Maxime Estève of Montpellier and Mattia Viti of Empoli also being considered.

  1. he had a complicated season but he is good overall and is way better than Romagnoli or Acerbi.

I don’t think Commisso will sell for lower than 15-20 though

    1. I understand that last year he had an agreement with management to renew for 1 year in exchange for being allowed to leave this summer for 15 million euros. So the price is fixed.

  2. I don’t think we need a new CB anyway, but if we are going to anyway, Milenkovic should’ve been the target from the get go, not Botman.
