Fiorentina star Castrovilli once again declares admiration for AC Milan growing up

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina star Gaetano Castrovilli has once again revealed his admiration for AC Milan, the team he grew up supporting as a child.

Castrovilli will face off against the Rossoneri in Saturday night’s game at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, having scored for La Viola already in the reverse fixture at San Siro.

The 22-year-old was one of the most impressive performers on the pitch, netting La Viola’s second goal on the way to a 3-1 rout. After the game, Castrovilli admitted his love for Milan, and the Rossoneri have actually been linked with a move to try and sign him since.

In view of Saturday’s game in Florence Castrovilli spoke to il Corriere dello Sport, and his words were transcribed by MilanLive.

“Pioli’s appointment at Milan? It gave a shock, perhaps even a push to improve, a sort of extra gear. Now more than ever we are all in competition.

“Ibrahimovic? He considers himself the ‘God of football’, like Messi, Ronaldo. And I also put Ribery in that list. I like his personality. Rebic? We are learning about him.”

“At my trial with Bari as a child, I showed up wearing Ronaldinho’s shirt, but I also liked Kakà very much. Then, while still not explaining why [he smiles, ed.], I remember that I had a DVD of Shevchenko. I often watched Milan.”
