Fiorentina star Gaetano Castrovilli has apologised to AC Milan for scoring against them at San Siro in their 3-1 win two weeks ago.
The 22-year-old was one of the most impressive performers on the pitch against the Rossoneri, netting La Viola’s second goal on the way to a rout.
Castrovilli put pen to paper on a new five-year deal on Wednesday and talked about his first ever goal in Serie A, which came against his boyhood club.
“As a child I was a big Milan fan and maybe I was sorry [for scoring against them],” he said, as per Calciomercato.com.
“I was so excited after scoring because scoring at this stadium is incredible for every player.
“Who inspires me? Kakà and Ronaldinho.”
On Wednesday it was claimed by Calciomercatonews.com that new boss Stefano Pioli could ask Milan to make a January move for Marco Benassi – the man Castrovilli has displaced in the line-up.
