Tuttosport: Five doubts and potential signings – Milan’s strategy regarding the attack

AC Milan must make a lot of reflections regarding their attacking department given the worrying signs in recent weeks, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports today that Brahim Diaz may not remain with the club next season for the second year of his loan spell. The agreement reached between Milan and Real last summer foresees him staying until 2023, but his poor form means an early termination cannot be excluded.

On the right side Samu Castillejo has long been out of Pioli’s plans while Alexis Saelemaekers got lost after his renewal and even for Junior Messias the future is uncertain given his struggles and the fact he would cost €5.2m to buy permanently.

The left wing has a doubt too as Ante Rebic’s disrupted season due to injuries has cast shadows on the future of the Croatian. The winger has missed 15 matches due to injury this year and if an offer came in it would be considered.

Who will come in to bolster the attack? Playmaker Yacine Adli will arrive once his loan at Bordeaux is done, while Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo and Marco Asensio of Real Madrid are targets. Regarding Berardi, Milan must negotiate to lower Sassuolo’s claims and are working with the player’s entourage.

On Asensio, it is easier to find an agreement with Real Madrid given his deal expires in 2023, but it is more difficult to satisfy the player’s requests because he wants €7m net per season.

Finally, keep an eye on 20-year-old Parma playmaker Adrian Bernabè who is tempting a lot of clubs given his recent run of 5 goals in 14 league games, after joining from Manchester City’s academy.
