The five key battles that could win or lose the game for Milan against Napoli

AC Milan will take on Napoli at 20:45 CEST today and it will be a big clash for both sides. There are several individual battles to keep an eye on and a few of them could be decisive for the outcome of the game.

The most obvious one, which has been talked a lot about lately, is Davide Calabria vs. Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. The latter has been on fire lately and will certainly be a great danger to the Milan defence, but the captain has shown that he’s strong in 1v1s.

On the opposite side, Theo Hernandez will be given more responsibility when it comes to pushing forward as Rafael Leao is suspended. Giovanni Di Lorenzi will try to stop him and the Italian will also try to push forward, making for a two-way battle.

In the middle, Ismael Bennacer will most likely be up against Piotr Zielinski a lot and the Polish international must be stopped. Milan is his favourite opponent in the league and extra attention will thus be needed.

Charles De Ketelaere will be looking to have an impact on the game and he will be up against Stanislav Lobotka. The latter is a good defensive midfielder and it will be interesting to see what the Belgian can do.

Finally, Olivier Giroud will be Milan’s danger man up front and Amir Rrahmani will be tasked with stopping the experienced Frenchman. It’s the latter seventh consecutive start and thus there might be signs of fatigue.
