Tuttosport: From unpredictability to recoveries – five reasons to believe in the Scudetto

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in Scudetto contention again this season with 10 games to go, and there are a number of reasons the team should believe.

The Rossoneri are currently in first place with 60 points from 28 matches, which is remarkable to say their primary objective was qualification for the next Champions League. Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it) sends a question to the fans: why not believe? They also give five reasons.

Heart: The team play with desire, and everyone in Milan knows what to do and what path to follow. They have become unpredictable, as seen in Maignan’s long balls for Leao, Kessie as an attacking midfielder and the tactical variation of the two full-backs. All are beneficial in the final stages.

Ibrahimovic: The Swede returns at the right moment, as he will give Giroud a chance to catch his breath as well as transmitting that adrenaline to his team-mates that can charge the team even more against the lower-ranking sides.

Kalulu: The performance against such a strong opponent like Napoli and in particular Victor Osimhen convinced even the most skeptical that he is at starter-level. In the most decisive moment of the season, he is a valuable resource.

Recoveries: Brahim Diaz, Alexis Saelemaekers, Junior Messias and even Ante Rebic have all struggled for attacking output in recent weeks. That means that not all players have reached their maximum, and surely at least a couple of them must hit form? Rebic certainly has previous for doing so.

Pioli: The head coach has shown he knows how to manage the final stretch, because last season the Rossoneri won four of their last five Serie A games, moving from fifth to second place in the standings which earned qualification for the Champions League.
