Florenzi believes Milan are lacking ‘clarity’ and adds: “We all have to row on the same side”

Alessandro Florenzi offered an honest reflection after AC Milan suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Udinese at San Siro tonight.

Udinese arrived having not won a game in the league all season, but Milan greeted them with a lethargic performance where they struggled to get going and ask the right questions.

The only goal of the game came via controversy as a penalty was awarded and upheld for what looked like very little contact, and Roberto Pereyra slotted it home to give Cioffi’s side a huge three points, plunging Stefano Pioli’s men deeper into a crisis.

Florenzi spoke to Sky Italia after the game to try and pick apart what was another very frustrating night for the team in front of their own fans, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“I’ll start from afar. The performance against Juve up until the sending off and even after was really good, we definitely did something wrong against PSG, in Naples we deserved to win based on what we showed,” he began.

“Tonight we lacked something. Clarity, we lost many balls. In my opinion it all starts from the clarity that is needed in certain moments. I’ll give an example but it’s not to judge, if at the beginning of the second half Reijnders’ strike goes in, the game changes. But tonight it seemed like the game that if you shoot 25 times it just won’t go in.

“We all have to row on the same side, from the first to the last at Milanello, from the first to the last fans who are important to us and who demonstrated it tonight too, they sang from the beginning to the end.”
