Florenzi compares Pioli’s coaching style with Conte’s: “He tries to get the best of me”

Alessandro Florenzi has praised AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli, comparing him to a manager that the team will face in less than a week.

Florenzi joined Milan on a season-long loan deal during the 2021 summer transfer window and there was also a buy-out option included. He quickly demonstrated the experience and versatility that he can offer, and thus became a permanent signing.

This season has not gone all to plan for the right-back however as he suffered a serious tendon injury during the 0-0 draw away against Sassuolo at the back end of August which kept him out for six months, though he is now back in full training and could return to the field as soon as Saturday.

Florenzi was interviewed by Carlo Pellegatti as part of a segment for StarCasinòSport and he was asked for his opinions on Pioli as a head coach compared to previous ones that he has worked under, with his full comments available here.

“I grew with him, he taught me never to spare myself, he tries to get the best of me in every training session. And I found this when I was in the national team with Conte. Whether you’re Florenzi, Kjaer, Maignan, Ibrahimovic or a boy from Primavera, he wants it all. If he doesn’t get it, he tells you,” he said.
