Florenzi receives ‘Fair Play Moment of the Season’ award – the motivation

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Florenzi was presented with the Fair Play Moment of the Season award prior to kick-off between AC Milan and Salernitana last night. The motivation highlighted a gesture during the game against Milan-Lazio last year.

Whilst warming up for the game, Florenzi was brought over to the stands by Milan’s brand ambassador and former player Daniele Massaro. The veteran was asked by a fan to bring Tijjani Reijnders’ shirt after the game, and he complied.

Milan ended up winning the game 2-0, thanks to goals by Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor, and Florenzi made sure to grab Reijnders’ shirt on his way to the stands. The fan in question was visibly delighted and Serie A decided to award the veteran with the award last night.

Florenzi also had a very good game yesterday, bagging an assist and showcasing his fantastic delivery on set pieces. Indeed, with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Simon Kjaer leaving, he will be an important leader for the team next season.

  1. Didn’t know about that move against Lazio but you can’t be surprised with Florenzi doing such. Nice gesture. I’ve always liked him since his early Roma days his footballing head his passion and discipline. One of the most creative players in this team. Good performances with always great attitude. I saw people criticizing him for opponent wingers outpacing him lol as if one can just improve his speed. Tho he can’t be that relied on with his age and lack of physical aggression because fullback is one of the most physical and energy demanding roles. He can still be quite useful for next season also given the departures of some seniors.

    1. Fullback? He can play almost everywhere on the pitch. Like yesterday when he was dominating the midfield.

He’s way too valuable to let go.

    2. Yeah, at one time even Barcelona players praise his technique & admit that they’ll be happy to have him at Barca
