Florenzi: “We need to honour this shirt and the work we do” – video

AC Milan defender Alessandro Florenzi believes that the team deserved to take all three points during yesterday’s draw against Bologna.

It was a horrendous start for Milan as they conceded inside 35 seconds when Nicola Sansone scored from close range, but Tommaso Pobega’s strike levelled the game, yet neither team could go on and find a win.

Florenzi was interviewed by Milan TV after making his first start since suffering an injury that kept him out for several months.

“We didn’t play at our best in the first few minutes but then we faced the game with a more serious mentality, more dedication and intensity. We surely deserved more from this game,” he began.

“I think first of all, we need to honour this shirt and the work we do, that’s why we are here. So, our coach can decide to change 10 players but our dedication and effort must always be guaranteed.

“I think every game is different. We will surely be focused for our next match, which could lead to something truly important for us and the club.

“I’m regaining my rhythm gradually, from playing 20 minutes, 30 minutes, today roughly 55 minutes, so all is going as it should and I just have to work hard and be ready when called upon.”
