Alessandro Florenzi, the former AC Milan and Roma player, has predicted Inter to clinch the Scudetto at the end of the season.

As a result of Milan’s win in the derby on Sunday, seven points now separate them from Inter in the standings. There are just ten games left of the season, so in light of that, most would agree that the Nerazzurri still have one hand on the trophy.

The former Milan player Florenzi, who was part of the team during the 2021-22 Scudetto season, is one of them. Indeed, speaking to Corriere dello Sport today to celebrate his birthday (happy birthday, Ale!), he shared his thoughts on the Scudetto and top four race.

“For me, Inter will win the league. Milan and Roma in the Champions League? I definitely think that Allegri will be there, while Gasperini can compete for it. Roma in the Europa League final? I don’t know if I will go. Let’s hope we get there first, then I’ll see if I can get a ticker…” he said (via MilanNews).

While he wasn’t a starter during the Scudetto season, Florenzi actually played a rather important role with his experience and leadership. On the pitch, he also contributed with two nice goals from his right-back position, sometimes playing as a right-winger too.

It was at the end of last season that the 35-year-old confirmed his retirement, which coincided with the expiration of his Milan contract. Reports at the time suggested that a management role had been offered, with Florenzi being very well-liked, but he turned it down.
