Alessandro Florenzi spoke to the media after AC Milan’s 2-0 win against Monza and while he was asked about his future, he quickly shifted focus to what the Rossoneri have to do.
Florenzi is one of the players who could say goodbye to Milan this summer, especially since his contract will expire at the end of the month. However, with very few fans present, it wasn’t really the mood for a big farewell and that theme continued in the post-match interview.

Speaking to DAZN, as transcribed by MilanNews, Florenzi shared his thoughts on the season and what needs to be done in the summer. He also refused to rule out a stay at Milan, shifting focus from his own future to talk about more important things.
On his future…
“It’s not the time to think about me, but about Milan. We need to get back on track. I will always be there for Milan. From tomorrow, we have to bring Milan back to where it belongs.”
On the negative season…
“These are responsibilities that, for me, should always be shared. We, the players, could have done better too. This shirt and these fans don’t deserve a Milan like this.”
On the squad…
“We have the quality to stay at the top. We all have to do more, now we need to start again with those who really want to fight. Milan deserves it.”
It remains to be seen what decision Igli Tare, the new sporting director, will make in the coming weeks. Florenzi does have experience and would surely be willing to stay on a low salary, while he would also be good for the squad list.
