This afternoon, it was reported that AC Milan would potentially meet with Galatasaray to discuss the future of Youssouf Fofana. That may not be the case anymore, though.

Things move quickly in football, and today it was reported that representatives from Turkish giants Galatasaray would be heading to Italy to hold meetings regarding certain players; one of them on the list was Fofana.

However, it seems that they may already have to focus on other ideas.

No to Turkey

Gazzetta dello Sport, in the past hour, have reported that the Frenchman has ‘no openness’ to the idea, which would write off a move. As a result, it seems that meetings will take place with Juventus regarding the availability of Teun Koopmeiners.

Regarding Fofana, it is not Galatasaray’s first involvement with the midfielder. In fact, the report suggests that contact had taken place between the summer mercato and November regarding a possible transfer.

The January mercato is long, and with a central defender still being considered, he could be allowed to leave if it would aid the Rossoneri’s pursuit of another player.

Fofana is not the only midfielder who has said no to an exit this winter, though, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek also being contacted by Lazio, with a similar sell to buy elsewhere idea in mind.

  1. I dont blame Fofana. He shouldn’t be sold and he’s actually useful to allegri.
    RLC on the other hand..

  2. Keep Fofana. For all his klutzy ball-handling and propensity to put shots into lunar orbit in the final third, he’s solid on defense and a great box-to-box ball advancer and passer. His pass to Nkunku for the game-saving goal vs. Fiorentina was sublime. I do sometimes feel like throwing a shoe at the tv screen after he launches a shot into the 23rd row behind the opponent’s goal…but the pluses outweigh the minuses, esp compared to Jashari (right now) and Ricci.

    1. Fofana made 9 assists last season (all comps). I don’t think any DM made more and I know he’s not especially good as a DM, but still, that is an excellent return.

      1. Fofana is not a DM, he is a box-to-box midfielder.
In Monaco he was even paired with Tchouaméni at some point. No need to guess who is the defensive one here.
Now his case is weird because those 9 assists plus one or 2 hockey assists are the only good passes I’ve seen from him.
You’d think that a player who has so many assists and so many good through balls would be terrific as a playmaker, but for Fofana it doesn’t seem to be the case.

      2. Oh I see you’ve shifted your narrative. Now you’re talking about last year LMAO 😂. What about this year?? And when you claim he has the most assist in Europe as a DM, which was false.
Sure he was better last year, but this year he’s been bad
