Fonseca hints at Camarda cameo ahead of ‘special’ and ‘important’ Club Brugge clash

Ahead of tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Club Brugge,. Paulo Fonseca spoke to the media about the task at hand. After two defeats in the Champions League, the Rossoneri are now looking to get their first win.

Fonseca made quite a few changes to the starting XI for the Udinese game, resting some of the stars, and the strategy behind this was pretty much confirmed by today’s XI. In any case, a win is a must for the team tonight and the manager knows it.

Speaking to Sky ahead of the game, as cited by MilanNews, he shared his thoughts on the competition, ‘Theao’, the formation and the youngster Francesco Camarda being on the bench. Indeed, it remains to be seen if the striker will come on.

On the Champions atmosphere…

“These are special matches, the Champions League is special. Playing at home is more special. It’s important today to play a good match, to win. And to continue having this type of match throughout the season.”

What to expect from Theo and Leao?

“I expect first of all that the team works together, defends together and is capable of being offensive and exploiting the individuality of the players. These are difficult matches, a concentrated and rigorous match is needed at all levels.”

On the formation on the pitch…

“Today we have Pulisic open on the right and Loftus playing in Pulisic’s central position, close to Reijnders who in the first phase will be closer to Fofana, while in the second and third phases closer to Loftus and Morata.”

Camarda on the bench…

“Let’s see. Camarda is a young man in whom we believe a lot, but we must all understand that he is really young. Let’s see if we will have the chance to play him, it will be important for him and for all the young people who believe in the youth sector of Milan.”

Camarda is on the bench due to Tammy Abraham’s injury, and also because Luka Jovic is not eligible for the Champions League (not included in the squad list).
