Footmercato: Milan outcast has several suitors including Everton – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Fode Ballo-Toure is destined to leave AC Milan this summer after two disappointing seasons at the club. Although he hasn’t been very successful with the Rossoneri, the interest on the market is still decent.

The left-back made just 14 appearances for the club last season, amassing 650 minutes, and his only output was a goal against Empoli (although an important one). In any case, he’s destined to leave Milan permanently this summer.

According to Footmercato, Fulham are still interested in Ballo-Toure but there are also three other clubs in the race: Bologna, Werder Bremen and Everton. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2026 and Milan will probably ask for at least €5m.

In many ways, Ballo-Toure has been fighting an uphill battle ever since he joined Milan. Replacing someone like Theo Hernandez, even as just a deputy, is far from easy and it’s probably best for his career to move elsewhere and get a starting spot.

  1. I don’t understand why we’d sell him to be honest – the moment to do it was when Kerkes was here but unless we have another LB ready to go then he’s a solid backup player who won’t expect to get starts.

Unless there’s a youth player ready or we’d gotten a player like N’Dicka who could play there in a pinch, then we may as well keep him as occasional replacement for Hernandez.

There’s no point spending big on a LB who we hope rarely has to start.
