Footmercato: Milan defensive target likely to take Monaco loan option

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan defensive target Thilo Kehrer is likely to join French side Monaco on loan for the rest of the season, leaving the Rossoneri and AS Roma to explore other options.

As has been reported by French outlet Footmercato (via Calciomercato.com), the West Ham United defender is not far away from agreeing on terms with Monaco as he tries to get more game time in the second half of the season.

The loan is not expected to include any option or obligation for Monaco to buy the former Paris Saint-Germain player on a permanent deal.

Milan and Roma have both been viewing Kehrer as one of many defensive options for the January transfer window as both sides seek to add more depth to their squads.

Milan have been linked with a host of players and Kehrer appeared one of the more attainable ones in the sense that West Ham are happy let him join another club.

The latest name to be linked with Milan’s defence is Lilian Brassier who plays for Stade Brest. The 1999-born defender can play as a centre-back and at left-back, a versatility that will be attractive to Stefano Pioli given he is light in both of those areas right now.
