FootMercato: Milan will make new attempt for Man Utd defender in the summer

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have tried to bring in a centre-back this month but given their tight budget, it looks like they will have to wait until the summer. Eric Bailly was one of the players on their radar and he should stay on it.

Bailly was heavily linked with the Rossoneri for a few days but a move hasn’t materialised this month. Man Utd seem willing to part ways with the Ivorian but perhaps a loan with option wasn’t to their liking.

According to FootMercato journalist Sebastien Denis, the centre-back was indeed one of Milan’s priorities but the player has decided to stay at Man Utd until the end of the season. Therefore, a January move has been ruled out.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had initiated contacts with Bailly’s entourage, per the reporter, and they will continue to monitor the defender until the summer. In fact, we can expect a new attempt from the Rossoneri then. It should be noted that Milan currently don’t have a free Non-EU slot.
