Former AC Milan boss Arrigo Sacchi has praised new head coach Marco Giampaolo, insisting he will bring an ‘identity’ to the Rossoneri.
The club have undergone a big overhaul this summer, replacing Gennaro Gattuso – who left his post at the end of last season – with Giampaolo.
The indications in preseason have been promising so far, with Milan able to build on the positive signs shown in the International Champions Cup by winning against Feronikeli in Kosovo on Saturday.
Sacchi, who coached Milan for six years in total and won eight trophies at the club, commented on the impact Giampaolo will make.
“I’ve known Marco Giampaolo for a long time, I wanted him in 2013 as the Under 21 coach when I was Technical Coordinator of the National Youth setup,” he told Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it).
“Giampaolo is one who gives an identity to his teams, a style of play: the Milan fans are used to seeing good play.
“They want to win, therefore, there must be more ideas, more commitment and more will.”
