AC Milan are once again walking a disciplinary tightrope against Lazio tonight, with four players one yellow card away from suspension.

It will be a strange atmosphere at the Stadio Olimpico this evening. The Rossoneri will encounter a Lazio fan base in full conflict with the management and ownership, which has led to a period of intense protest.

Despite this, for the match against Milan, the Biancocelesti supporters will return to the Olimpico, with a crowd of over 50,000 expected. Part of this will be the 10,000 or more Rossoneri supporters present in the stands, sensing an opportunity to make the Scudetto race even more interesting.

Lazio are the only team to beat Milan away from home this season, but that came in the Coppa Italia round of 16. On top of all this, several of Massimiliano Allegri’s players will have to be careful about their disciplinary situation.

Four of the matchday squad are currently within a booking of a suspension, namely Zachary Athekame, Youssouf Fofana, Luka Modric and Alexis Saelemaekers. A booking would force them to miss the next league match against Torino.

It is worth noting that Athekame is expected to be on the bench, but Fofana and Modric have a very important midfield role and Saelemaekers will get the nod on the right flank.

Adrien Rabiot is also missing this evening, suspended after receiving a yellow card while being one caution from the threshold during last week’s match against Inter.
