From €12m to €120m – Milan and Inter’s new stadium is a huge revenue boost

AC Milan and Inter are one step closer to getting the full go-ahead for their stadium project. The official figures for the project have been released and one can understand why the clubs are pushing for it.

The public debate for the stadium will begin next week and the outcome of it will decide the future of the project. Milan and Inter want to begin construction in 2024 and inaugurate it in 2027, which you can read more about here.

As per the official numbers presented by the clubs, via Calcio e Finanza, they estimate that the new stadium will generate €120.4m in revenue annually. The sources of income include naming rights, sponsorships and tours/museum among other things.

It’s a significant amount especially considering that Milan and Inter made just €12.3m in revenue from tours, museum, store, events and sponsorships in 2018/19. These figures come from MI Stadio, which is the company the clubs use to manage San Siro.

In short, the new stadium would bring an extra €110m to Milan and Inter every year, which is eye-opening.
