From England: AC Milan want Man Utd outcast Sanchez on loan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of four Serie A clubs in the running to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United, a report claims.

The highest-paid player in United’s history, the Chile international has failed to impress since sealing his move from Arsenal to Old Trafford.

Sanchez scored just one goal and assisted three in 20 Premier League appearances last season as his struggles since joining United in January 2018 have only continued.

The player has been linked with moves away, but his wages of a reported £425,000 a week present a huge stumbling block for clubs outside of England and Spain.

Despite this, the Daily Mirror (via Calciomercato.com) claim that the Chile international could still leave United this summer.

Their report states that a return to Italy – where he played with Udinese from 2006-2011 – could be on the cards.

Milan are apparently one of the teams in the running, as well as rivals Inter, Juventus and Roma.

Given the Rossoneri’s recruitment strategy so far this summer, it seems highly unlikely that the interest is genuine, especially given that a big chunk of Sanchez’s astronomical wages would have to be covered by United to facilitate a loan exit.
